2025 Rules:
WHO - Any junior member of the Holstein Association, 4-H or FFA in good standing and at least 12 years old as of Jan. 1 2025. Juniors from outside the Intermountain region are welcome to apply. Previous calf winners (if eligible) may compete for prizes other than the calf.
WHEN - The contest officially starts March 15, and the deadline is April 9, 2025. Entries may be emailed to beth@mtnviewdairy.com You will get an email response upon receipt of application.
INSTRUCTIONS- Please submit answers to all 6 questions on a separate sheet of paper and submit as a PDF or word document attached in an email.
FINALISTS - Contestants providing the best responses to questions will be invited to an individual interview by the final selection judges. The applicants qualifying for interviews will be notified to schedule interviews by Friday, April 16, 2025, with Zoom interviews taking place April 18-20, 2025.
The panel of judges may come from the dairy industry and contest sponsors. Entrants will be judged as to their knowledge of the questions on the application, the dairy industry, and their participation in agricultural and community activities. Applications featuring original content as their responses to questions will be prioritized. Contest sponsors reserve the right to make awards different from the guidelines noted.
The three finalists will be notified by April 21, 2025 and will be required to attend the Spring Western National Holstein Show in Richmond, UT on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 for presentation of the calf and other awards.
